Each year, Apprentices from Andrew Collinge Training take part in the Andrew Collinge Intersalon Competition. The annual event gives trainees the opportunity to demonstrate the hairdressing skills they’ve learnt over the past year and gives them the chance to push themselves creatively with current trends in hair, makeup and fashion.
This year’s judges for the event have been announced and judging the competition will be (left to right) Katie Hartley, Regional Education Specialist at TIGI Haircare, Marco Iafrate, TIGI Creative Director and Sally Whitehead, Creative Educator at GHD.
Katie Hartley is the Regional Education Specialist for TIGI and is responsible for ensuring stylists are educated on any new products and trends from the TIGI collection. Katie has delivered a number of training sessions to our salon teams and works with us frequently to ensure we are constantly up to date with the latest colour knowledge and skills.
Marco Iafrate has worked with Anthony Mascolo at TIGI for 15 years and is respected for his intricate hairdressing and his strength as both an educator and session stylist.
Having originally worked alongside Anthony in the salon, he worked for several years as Creative Director in the London Academy, before returning to his native country, Italy, to lead the team at the TIGI Academy in Milan, where he successfully created a strong education platform and built an impressive Creative Team, working both in the Academy and in the field. He has recently returned to London where he will head the next-generation TIGI European Academy in East London.
Sally Whitehead, has worked as GHD Creative Educator and MUA at GHD for the past 6 years.
Her passion lies within styling hair and she also works as a L’Oréal Colour Specialist. Sally is responsible for delivering courses from the GHD Education Seminar to stylists across the UK, and has just been appointed as the GHD Style Squad Mentor for 2017.
